If your sister’s birthday is coming up, or it’s a holiday or graduation, it may be a bit daunting finding the right gift. Finding gifts for siblings is often tricky because you can never be sure if they’ll really like it or not.

It’s always a good rule of thumb to pick something you yourself would enjoy. However, this only works well if you both have at least somewhat similar interests. If your sibling like things you normally wouldn’t, it’s better to think of what they’d really like or just something that would please anybody.

For example, clothes are always a great way to go if you know you’re sister’s size and tastes. Even if you’d don’t know her particular style, big sister shirts are always in fashion and the sizing is pretty easy to get right. If your sister is older, there are a ton of big sister shirts online you can order. If she’s into music, you can also find shirts featuring her favorite artist or band. A personal touch to something simple makes for a very nice and stress free present.

Another way to go is to buy some kind of hygienic products, like lotions, conditioners and perfumes. Nice, light perfumes and skin products are always an option when you’re not sure what to get. Chocolates, cookies and other confections are also hard to go wrong with. If you put together a big basket of these things, I’m sure she’d be pleased.

Even if your sister is much older than you, toys can be a fun gift. There are billions of different plush animals to choose from, and some of them have an edgy charm that any girl would find cute without thinking it babyish. Unique jewelry, watches and accessories also make great gifts that are easy to find. Specialty merchants such as Whimsical Watches sell beautiful watches with tiny figurines inside that correspond to all types of themes.

If you want a gift to be warmly accepted, it’s important to go that extra mile and make it unique. Even the simplest things can be made unique and personable, so it’s important to keep that in mind when finding your loved ones a gift.
